Fourth Grade

Dear Parents,

This week, we have begun our Recorder unit. The recorders will stay at school for a couple of weeks and then they will be able to go home. Students are responsible for bringing it to every class. They have been told always to put it in their backpack when they are done playing it at home.

They will be given a student recorder packet to take home as well. They will be responsible for keeping track of this packet and practicing the songs at home. When they are ready, they will “audition” for a “lab coat” (colored loom band) to be placed on their recorder.

Once I have allowed them to take the recorders home, please remember that students must bring their recorders to school on Mondays, Wednesdays for 4B, and Fridays for 4A!!! If they place their recorder in their backpack every time, this shouldn’t be a problem. Also, please keep in mind that the recorders will be collected at the end of the unit. Please remind your student to take good care of their recorder. There will be a $5 replacement charge for broken or lost recorders.
