Welcome to the St. Francis de Sales School Website! Thank you for taking an interest in our private, Catholic, preschool through 8th grade parish school community.
St. Francis de Sales School is a school that blends the best of our rich 60+ years of traditions with innovative and creative approaches to ensure our students are receiving the very best 21st century Catholic education. We live our unchanging mission with 21st century vision.
In 2017, our school officially adopted five norms that have always defined our school: community, innovation, growth, respect and service. We also articulated our Vision of a Graduate which outlines our spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical student growth goals. Curriculum and instruction are designed purposefully to align with our community norms and our Vision of a Graduate.
Our fundamental beliefs about curriculum and instruction are that learning is life-long, connected to real life experience, multi-sensory, goal-motivated, experiential, relational, and active. Upon graduation, a student should be prepared to approach high school at Carmel, St. Viator, Lake Zurich HS, Stevenson, and others with confidence, resilience, a sense of responsibility, and an ethic of service.
Our faculty care deeply about our collective mission. They model life-long learning for the students. They are passionate, but also possess the technological, pedagogical, and content-area knowledge that allows them to inspire students and pass on their knowledge. They provide direct instruction, coach and guide students in independent learning, and create opportunities for student collaboration as well.
Our teachers and our families are partners in education with strong relationships and communication between them that supports student learning.
I hope you will explore our website to learn more about this wonderful community. If you believe, as I do, that your child deserves the very best education consider enrolling them at St. Francis de Sales School.
In your service,
Principal Kyle Schmitt, Ed.S.
