St. Francis de Sales School (SFS) is proud to announce the debut of a newly-imagined school website. The goal of this renovation continues to be improving communications and resources available to current and prospective families. By making the website more user-friendly, highlighting distinctive school programs, producing timely content, and integrating the school's new brand and marks, SFS invites stakeholders to more easily connect to its mission, work, and accomplishments.
In response to feedback from the Bright Minds firm’s family survey (Fall 2018) and last spring’s parent-teacher communication task force, and funded by proceeds from Travinia, the SFS School Board led this website initiative in close collaboration with PTO, Athletic Board, faculty/staff and the school leadership team.
“We are excited to refresh and rejuvenate the virtual front door of our school,” SFS Board Vice President Katie Grund said. “The newly-designed and updated website allows our school families to have a one-stop shop for school and teacher information. In addition, the upgraded website makes a dynamic first impression of our great school. New families can discover SFS’ commitment to excellence, faith and affordability, while current families, teachers, and parishoners can continue to be reminded of SFS’ vibrant spirit and community.”
Added Principal Kyle Schmitt: "This project would not have been successful without the vision and leadership of former Board President Bob Quast, current Board President Allison Villinski, and the dedication of the website team composed mostly of parent volunteers. I would like to particularly thank Katie Grund, Jim Luby, Christy Sikorski, Joe Villinski, and the St. Francis de Sales School Academic Leadership Team for the time they gave to build our new website.”
Highlights regarding the new design include:
- Responsive & mobile-friendly design
- A re-designed homepage
- New and updated pages rich with content
- Regularly-updated teacher pages
- Helpful Calendar, News, Directory, and Search feature pages
- Social media feed built directly into the homepage
The design process, updating of content, and review began with the 2019-20 school year. A majority of pages on the website are now just one click away from the homepage. The number of primary navigation sections has been condensed, making information easier to access. The larger navigation drop-down menus allow for greater readability. New quicklinks buttons at the top of the homepage will help users navigate efficiently to pertinent information.
Special thanks to the website planning and implementation team for its dedication to this project:
