Choir

The choir is open to students in 3rd-8th grades. Student cantors are assigned to a cantor group and take turns volunteering to prayerfully lead the assembly in song during our weekly school Masses that are typically celebrated at 8:30 on Wednesday mornings.

Cantors grow in confidence and overcome personal vulnerabilities by singing in front of a large assembly, especially their peers, and learn the beauty of church music whether singing traditional hymns, Gospel, chant, contemporary or classical repertoire. The students have their favorites and it is always a blessing when they say, “Oh, we love that one!”

Music opens a vital door to self-expression and prayer. Students also learn two-part music that furthers auditory skills as they develop collaboration with one another and thus, the ability to sing with one another in harmony and service.
