Welcome to Technology!
Our Technology curriculum focuses on both computer literacy and computer science topics. Computer literacy subjects include digital citizenship, mouse skills, keyboarding, word processing, drawing, presentation, and spreadsheet software, as well as internet research skills. Computer science units focus on the topics of computer hardware, programming, and robotics. Kindergarten - 5th-grade students learn to program using the Blockly language. 6th graders program stories using Scratch, 7th graders focus on web page development using HTML & CSS, while 8th graders learn to create simple animations and games using Javascript. 3rd and 7th graders also complete a unit about the engineering design process.
Preschoolers in Mrs. Buss' and Mrs. Hensley's classes will focus on mouse skills while working on an online activity relating to their classroom's weekly theme.
We are a Common Sense School! Digital Citizenship is an important part of our curriculum from kindergarten through 8th grade.
