St. Francis de Sales Parish School was founded by Rev. Joseph Firnbach in 1956. Over the years, St. Francis de Sales School has kept pace with the growth of the community of Lake Zurich. In 2004, the new science lab, computer center, library, music and art rooms, and gymnasium were added as part of a major expansion. In 2010, substantial technological advancements were made within the St. Francis de Sales campus, further enriching the educational experience for St. Francis de Sales students. In 2015, 6-8 grades received individual Chrome books.
In recent years, both the St. Francis de Sales School Board and Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) received awards from the National Catholic Educational Association for significant contributions to Catholic education.
In 2007, St. Francis de Sales was named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education, a distinction only the top 10% of schools in the country receive.
St. Francis de Sales has continuously received re-certification from the Chicago Archdiocese Office of Catholic Education and the Illinois State Board of Education.
Expanding from a small country elementary school, St. Francis de Sales continues to meet the challenges of providing quality academic programs and extracurricular programs to its population of nearly 400 students.
