Transportation - Bus Information
Families that reside in District 95 will receive bus service to St. Francis de Sales School (exception: there may be a fee if you live closer than 1.5 miles from school – see below for more information). The Illinois State Board of Education does not reimburse school districts for transporting students who live less than 1-1/2 miles from school, unless the route is approved as hazardous.
The Lake Zurich C.U.S.D. 95 Board of Education has historically made transportation available for students residing between 1/2 and 1-1/2 miles from their school of attendance for a fee based on the State Pupil Transportation Claim filed with the Illinois State Board of Education cost per student figure. Free ridership continues to be evaluated for efficiencies; therefore, the number of available seats for “pay-to-ride” can be very limited.
“Pay-to-ride” service will be available only if there are unused seats, based upon planned loads, on existing routes. Additional routes will not be added to the transportation schedules to accommodate “pay-to-ride” students. The service is offered for the entire year only. Requests for winter months only, AM only or PM only, cannot be accommodated. Only one address will be accepted for transportation purposes. This must be a five-day-a-week, AM/PM arrangement, using the same stop.
For the 2016-2017 school year, the cost for each “pay-to-ride” student will be $400.00. There will be no discount available for multiple students.
Any available “pay-to-ride” seats will be assigned based on a “lottery” to be conducted on Thursday, August 11, 2016, in the Transportation Office. All forms received by 7:00PM on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, will be included in the lottery process.
